Every account without a paid plan now gets one credit on the house, every month. One credit is one send of up to 1 GB. Encrypted in your browser, opened once by your recipient, then gone.
No card. No trial that quietly turns into a subscription. Nothing to cancel.
The rules, all of them
- One credit a month. It lands in your account and we email you when it does.
- It does not pile up. Skip a month and you still have one, not two. We top you up to one, we do not add.
- Up to 1 GB, no extra password. The extra password costs a second credit, so a free send goes without it.
- A verified email address. This is the one thing we ask for. More on that below.
That is the whole fine print.
Who gets it
Anyone with an account and no active paid plan. That includes you if you cancelled, if your last renewal failed, or if you tried us once and never came back. Leaving a plan does not mean leaving VitalSend.
If you pay, nothing changes for you. Your plan works exactly as before.
Why we ask for an email this time
Free things attract bots. One free send is worth real money, and without a cost per account, someone would create ten thousand of them. So the free credit needs an email address you have confirmed, and we check that a person, not a script, created the account.
You still do not have to give us your real address. An alias from SimpleLogin, addy.io, Firefox Relay or Apple's Hide My Email works fine. To us it is just an address that receives a confirmation link.
Accounts without an email keep working as before. They just do not get the free credit.
When one is not enough
A larger file, an extra password, or more than one send a month: buy credits or pick a plan on the pricing page. One-off sends without an account are still there too.
What did not change
The file is encrypted before it leaves your device. The key travels in the link and never reaches us. One download, then the file no longer exists. Free or paid, every send gets the same treatment.
